Holy Land Mall is an importer/retailer of olive wood art from the Holy Land region based in Springfield Missouri. We are a family owned and operated business and have been in the olive wood business for five years. Our belief is that quality and good prices are what makes a successful business.

About our product:

Olive wood trees grow naturally in only a few places on earth; these include a small area of Europe, and a few places in the Middle East. The craft of turning olive wood into the art that you see is a very old tradition in the area of the Holy Land, going back as far as the time of King David when many people made their personal dishware from this wood. During the middle ages when the Christian monks from Europe came to the Holy Land they brought with them the skills of wood carving, these same skills have been passed down from generation to generation. The style of art work that we see to day is in many ways the same that existed when the monks came to the Holy Land. Olive Wood art is created with very basic tools all hand made without the help of modern tools. It is a tradition in the region that has lasted the test of time and will continue for generations.

The olive wood tree is considered to be one the oldest trees on earth, some of these trees in the Holy Land are up to 2000 years old. The olive wood tree is a special tree because of the grains in its wood, the older the tree the more grains and designs that are visible in the wood it self.
